This summer we did a little road trip through Normandy and Brittany in France. We only had a week, so we couldn’t go far and we didn’t have time to visit a lot of places, but we had an amazing time anyways. So sit back and scroll through this photo report of our very first vacation with Zoey.
Broglie
We started our trip in Zaandam and Wouter drove all the way to Broglie, a little old town in Normandy with timber framed homes, where we stayed in a lovely hotel for a couple of days. We wandered around and visited Bernay, Étretat and Honfleur from here, but first, let’s show you some photos from Broglie:
Bernay
The owners of the hotel we stayed in in Broglie recommended us to go to Bernay for dinner and a day out, so we did. Bernay is a bigger town than Broglie with more modern shops, lots of restaurants and beautiful old buildings.
Étretat
We also visited Étretat, after seeing lots of beautiful pictures of it. Too bad the weather wasn’t really good when we were there, so we had a grey skies and even a little bit of rain.
Honfleur
When we were visiting Étretat we wanted to visit Honfleur as well and thankfully the weather got a bit better, so we had some sunshine that day. Honfleur is so beautiful and the tall buildings at the little harbor reminded me of Diagon Alley from the illustrated Harry Potter books!
Mont Saint Michel
I didn’t want to miss this on our way to the tree house in Brittany! So we took a little detour and visited this medieval city in the sea.
Forges des Salles
Then we arrived at the end of our trip, Forges des Salles. Read all about our tree house adventure here, but this are some photos from Forges des Salles. It used to be an old steel factory and now it’s an open air museum. We walked around and did a little picknick in the sunshine, perfect!
