When I was traveling through the States and discovered pumpkin spice everything, I was sold. Now every time I get a PSL at Starbucks it reminds me of my trip. I was lucky enough to visit Michigan in fall, so all the trees had beautiful colors, I picked out pumpkins on a pumpkin farm, drank apple cider at an orchard with matching donuts. Here’s a photo blog about my time in Michigan. I also celebrated Halloween in San Diego, CA with my cousins and we visited Halloween themed Disneyland in LA.
When I was home after 5 amazing weeks, I went on a search for Pumpkin Spice and canned pumpkin puree. Maybe common for you, but very hard to find here in the Netherlands. Only at USA themed specialty shops like this one in Amsterdam. But the prizes are super high, you easily pay 3 times the regular price there, so I decided to make my own.
Pumpkin Spice is delicious in cookies, pies, cakes, banana bread, you name it! But also in your oatmeal, sprinkled on you whipped cream on your hot chocolate, in your smoothie or home made PSL. And like always, I’m sharing this super easy recipe with you guys, ’cause I’m probably not the only one who’s pumpkin spice obsessed.
What you need for a pot:
- 6 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 6 tsp ginger powder
- 6 tsp ground nutmeg
- 4 tsp ground cloves
- 2 tsp ground piment
Mix it well and put in a closable jar and you’re done!
